NSA memberships run by calendar year and help show broad community support for our mission to protect and preserve Nantucket’s harbors, water quality, and shellfisheries.
As an NSA member, you receive priority access to purchase tickets to our shellfish celebration events, which often sell out quickly.
Our membership has grown from just five founding members in 2003 to more than 850 members today. We invite you to renew your membership or join NSA as a new member for 2026.
Generous financial gifts help NSA continue its year-round work while investing in the long-term health of Nantucket’s harbors and shellfisheries.
Your donation supports education programs, student scholarships, research and shellfish grants, harbor initiatives, and community outreach.
NSA welcomes gifts by credit card, cash, check, stock, or estate planning. Thank you for considering a contribution to support our work.

Many NSA members, supporters, and business partners help by hosting gatherings that bring people together around our mission.
Hosted events may include oyster parties, wine gatherings, beach bonfires, farm-to-table dinners, private receptions, or other community-focused fundraising opportunities.

NSA events, programs, and harbor initiatives are made possible with the help of dedicated volunteers.
Volunteers support event setup, guest check-in, auction and raffle assistance, education programs, harbor initiatives, photography, community outreach, and many other needs throughout the year.
